Our makeup looks for fall include a redefined glitter eye look called the "Spectrun Darkle".

ANNOUNCING THE TARINA TARANTINO SPARKLE FACTORY

Well the day has finally come, after lots or red tape and a few long years we are ready to announce our plans for our beloved SPARKLE FACTORY.

She is a beautiful (use your imagination!) vintage building located in the heart of the fashion district in downtown Los Angeles, just down from the Orpheum theatre and across from the United Artists building which will soon become the ACE HOTEL.

The day started off with an early morning press conference with councilman Jose Juizar and other city officials there to celebrate the announcement with us.

There were displays with pieces from current and past collections and campaigns.
Some of our Team Sparkle who also did a fantastic job creating the ambiance for the event!

The Sparkle Factory is now officially part of the "Bringing Back Broadway" renaissance initiative.  For those of you who are not familiar with downtown Los Angeles it is truly a diamond in the rough and a place with a very special history.
We have some really exciting plans for the building as explained here in the L.A. Times. Being huge fans of all things art related we were especially thrilled when we turned up to find an authentic Banksy gracing the south facing wall of The Sparkle Factory last year.

Did know that Broadway has the largest concentration of historic theaters and movie palaces on one street in all of the nation? Not only that but Broadway and downtown L.A. were the original "Hollywood" as many of the early movies were developed, produced and filmed right along Broadway and nearby avenues. Our future SPARKLE FACTORY building is the former home of L.L. Burns Western Costume and was frequented by all of the stars of the time. In fact it was on our very rooftop that one of the most iconic scenes in all of silent film history was shot:

Yes there he is, Harold Lloyd in the famous scene from "Saftey Last" (and more recently this scene was used in HUGO), which is ironically and wonderfully our favorite silent film. To discover that this piece of celluloid history took place atop The Sparkle Factory is truly delightful!
I will end this fairytale beginning with the final scene from the film where Harold Lloyd and Mildred Davis stroll across the rooftop of The Sparkle Factory.
